The visit

How a visit works.

We visit twice a year, typically in spring and fall. You receive photographs and a written record of what we found. You do not have to be home. If something needs a repair, we send a quote first. Then we do the work, or we schedule the company and handle every detail with them.

01 · The watch

We come twice a year.

Typically in spring and fall, before summer heat and winter freeze. We check heat, water, power, and the roof, whether you are home or away.

02 · The record

You get a PDF of the visit.

Notes, photographs, and the model numbers from the furnace, water heater, and other equipment. You can see what we found without walking through the home. If something fails later, the technician already has the details.

03 · The quote

Nothing proceeds without your approval.

Anything that needs more work is quoted first. Nothing is scheduled until you approve it.

04 · The work

Then we handle every detail.

We do the work, or we schedule the company and handle every detail with them. You are not handed a list of people to call.

After the visit

We send a message, then the PDF.

What we found, photographs, and a quote before anything else is scheduled. Sample shown, address withheld.

FAQ

Before you book

Whether you have to be home, what is included, how billing works, and how Winter Watch works.

Do I have to be home?

No. We work whether you are home or away. After the visit you receive a message and the PDF. If something needs a quote, you approve it from wherever you are.

What’s included?

$350 a month, with a one-year commitment, covers two visits a year, photographs, and a PDF of the visit. Routine work such as filters, a water heater flush, the garage door, alarms, and outlets in wet areas is done on the visit, not sold as extras. Anything that needs a repair is quoted first. Then we do the work, or we schedule the company and handle every detail with them.

How is it billed?

The program is $350 a month, with a one-year commitment. That covers two visits a year, typically in spring and fall. Any other work is quoted, and nothing is scheduled until you approve it.

Is there a commitment?

Yes. Standing Watch is $350 a month, with a one-year commitment.

What if I want more than twice a year?

Visits are typically twice a year, in spring and fall. If you want more, we schedule them. Additional visits are quoted.

Do you record the equipment details?

Yes. Model numbers from the furnace, water heater, and other equipment go in the visit log. If something fails later, the technician already has the details.

What about repairs beyond the visit?

Anything that needs more work is quoted first. Nothing else is scheduled until you approve it. Then we do the work, or we schedule the company and handle every detail with them. We do not hand you a list of people to call.

Why twice a year?

Spring and fall catch heat, water, power, and the roof before the seasons that stress them. Waiting for a failure is how a quiet leak becomes a restoration.

We’re gone all winter. What then?

Winter Watch is a $950 seasonal add-on. We place a small monitor in the home for temperature, humidity, and power. It runs on cellular service, so it still works if the Wi-Fi is off. If the heat fails, the power goes out, or the temperature falls below a level you choose, Standing Watch is alerted. The first response visit is included; parts and further work are quoted as they occur.

Is this only for year-round homes?

No. The same program fits primary homes and places you leave for the season, in Lake Geneva, Walworth County, and Chicago’s North Shore.

How do I start?

Send the address and whether you want fall, spring, or both. We will confirm the visit. You do not have to be home. Any work beyond what is included is quoted before it is scheduled.
